730CK- 830CK differences

Aside from cubes and the hood decal is there any difference between a 730CK diesel and 830CK diesel? I want an 830CK but can't find one locally but found a 730CK diesel with a blown engine. Know of a couple 301's from construction equipment I could get pretty reasonable.

Jimmy-Jimmy-Jimmy!! Other than wheel & tire size, & engine, they are the same. They share the same parts book. Great tractor, btw.

Johnny, had a 730CK gasser a while back and thought it was kinda wimpy for the size, figured a 301 with it's bigger pistons and ports will perk it up a bit. This one has 15.5-38's on the back but I have a set of 18.4-34's on cast centers laying in the barn.

Have an 830 dual range 1961 EH and a late 730 COM. 830 not set up at all. the 730 works well but not near in the same league as the 830.

Look close at the crank on the construction engines. Some of
them aren't drilled to accept the pto input shaft. Ran into that
once.

830 Had both speedometer and tachometer,730 had tach. with ground speed markings.Different cubic inch in engine and different pumps on diesel models. The 730 dry clutch also ran slower RPM's.

Thanks Paul! It is these little things that I was wondering about. No speedometer isn't a big deal because my 800 and 1030 don't have a working one either. Maybe I'll pass it on or part it out and find a genuine 830

good info ,, be careful ,, 430-470 has same delima ,,,early 430 crankshaft will not accept 470 live power pto ,, the crank has to be splined on the inside

Don't underestimate the power of the 730 diesel. I overhauled
mine with oversized pistons , rebuilt injectors set to 2200 psi.
opening and turned rpms. up to 830 numbers . Now she runs a
good 62+ HP.
