Hard to figure why you didn't move the tractor first, I've considered at times, where things are parked, it'll never go there, but always end up stopping and making sure everything is out of the fall radius, time to get the sheet metal tools out!

OUCH !! Well glad no one was hurt... My GrandDad was a basket maker,in the 40's & 50's. He started with a tree(black ash). Hand cut,of course. He was 'experienced'. One time, against his son's advice, he cut a tree, that went backwards, right dead center on his car. Never lived that one down.
I stayed with him alot as an early teen, learned basket weaving & chair bottom weaving. Miss Him !

been clearing land as often as I can for the last 2 summers, I hook the winch on the dozer to the tree and put some strain on it then dig around it with the frost point on the backhoe. then pull them down and it gets the stump out all in one shot. after a hundred or so I have gotten sort of complacent. the ground is super wet with all this rain and before I could get over to the dozer to pull this one came down since it was so loose. it cant come backward because the winch is hooked to it but it can still come sort of sideways. I was still in the backhoe and pushed as hard as I could to try to steer the tree as it went down but it still hit the tractor. I am just glad it didn't smash the gas tank. the fenders can be flattened back out and I wanted a new seat anyway. can't let these things get you down.

Amazing how much work we create for ourselves! I'm my own worst enemy................. I think we all could fill a book with unusually clever stunts, and without a whole lot of thinking

Hey Your not alone ! well that's kind of uncalled for, I am quite happy with my tires. they hold air and the rims don't have any rust holes in them. That's more than I can say about the tires that were on it when I drug it home.

I'm sorry you took that the wrong way. There is no such thing as a cheap tire on a tractor. I was just thinkin' of havin' to replace them if they had been blown out.
