picked it up today and have to say so far I like it but what a smoker..bad blowby and blue smoke to boot..throttle problem is not with linkage but in gov somewhere I think..i have to push linkage back forward to idle it down wont go back on its own..sometimes when running it will rev up without the linkage moving..any ideas?.for those of you who said it was an early one due to the continental engine the serial # is 6099166..what yr would this be..also the hyd bleed down even with tractor running so what would this be?..thanks for any help

Serial number 6099166 would be an early 1958 model.

If the eagle hitch is lowering it is likely the rockshaft piston seal, which is located under the seat, and is contained within the transmission/rearend top plate. Do search here and you'll find a great deal of information on the topic. One caution, Case made a number of different piston/o-ring/seal combinations over the years. Some were designed to replace the original equipment parts. You will need to disassemble the piston before ordering parts/seals/o-rings.

If I understand right your tractor has the Continental diesel engine. I know a fella that has a bunch of NOS parts for them. His parts include a NOS injector pump that it sounds like you need. Contact me and I can get you in touch with him. My email should be open. DK

I don"t know much about all this but why would I need an injector pump?..the gov is what controls the rpms of the engine..
