How hard is it to take the oil pan off a 530 gas to put new seals on? Can I just take it off or do I have to take the front axle off

There are two different wide front end setups for the 530 series. The first was a nearly identical to the earlier 00B series, and the later series was a hydrostatic setup with two steering cylinders contained within the yoke underneath the engine.

I can't remember for sure, but I believe both setups will require that you at least remove the rear attach point to create some room. It's not that hard to remove either front end if you have a good hoist, and you may want to do so to give plenty of room to work.

Be sure to not over torque the pan screws. The torque spec for the screws in a pressed steel pan are only 10-12 Ft lbs. - Joe
