770 powershift won't move

I just bought a 770 for parts but it is all there and even runs. It grinds when going into the range gears. It chirps occasionally when I push in on the pedal. Pushing the pedal in does not return the powershift lever to 1st. When I put it in any of the forward powershift gears it will rock forward. Does nothing in reverse. In third with throttle it will lunge forward. I did notice a leak coming from under the powershift valve. I do have hyds., steering and lift. It is full of fluid but I have not changed the filters. I'm just playing with it right now before sinking money into it. My manual is missing the section on powershift trouble shooting. Thanks for the help in advance.

I'm not the one to tell you how to fix your tractor but if you have a complete 770 that runs PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not part it out.

I bought it at auction and was told it did not run. After a little tinkering I got it running. It will remain whole if I can fix the tranny without putting a bunch in it. It will need a lot of miner work on the rest of it. The parts were going to be to keep my fleet going. Not for sale.

After some linkage adjustment on the pedal it will now drop back to first some of the time. It will lunge in Reverse and pull itself in third powershift. I feel like it is a linkage issue. Still need help.

linkage cable adjustments ... I think you are on the rite track... jacobi' s in palmyra in , 812 , 364-6141??have got some smart fellas that mite get the power shift workin like new again .Billy is shop foreman ...they are a ihc dealer that adopted case with open arms when the shotgun marriage happened some 30 yrs ago ,, billy,, told me when they fixed my 1070 the motor is the best thing about a case 70 series .. lol

I worked for Jacobi Sales in Shelbyville, KY saleing parts about 16 years ago. They have a great case guy but he has been on vacation. I'll probably wait on him to return. Just wanting to get to working on it while I have the time.

you are gonna have a good cheap tractor when you get it figured out ,,, imho ,, if you are up to it , get you some gauges, get in touch with mEl and other gurus on here ,, search the archives and you will figure it out on your own ,,,.who knows what got in the seat before you .a strong willed arm could a pushed the hale out of the p/s lever and ruined all the adjustments..
