Well, we have a shield here for my sons 660 that I didn't know where it went on the machine. After seeing your pic., I see it goes over the threshing fan pulleys.

That is on your 660 combine. The tire was the final clue, not to mention the fact that other than the rotating fan screen that part of the machine is identical to the 960 that my family owns.

Is a 402 head a stripper plate head? The earlier version was of the snapping roll design as I understand them.

I am not very smart on corn heads, I have been told the 402 was a better design than the early F345 head, maybe that is the difference
