Case 430 carb question

I am working on a Case 430 with a g148b gas engine. I am replacing the carberuator and have
a couple of questions. The old carb is a Zenith and the replacement is a Marvell. Is there any
changes that need to be done to the linkages
when doing the swap? Also what would be a good
starting point on the needles be? Thanks

IMHO you have a much better carb with the Marvel but many will differ on that point. The governor rod should be set so with the throttle in wide open position (shut off of course) and the rod end adjusted so the carb lever is 1/16 off the stop pin. One turn out on the idle air jet and 1 1/2 for the main jet for starters then adjust for smoothest idle on the idle jet and good throttle response on the main jet. I usually run the engine wide open , turn the high speed jet in till the engine starts to stumble then back out about 3/4 turn. Keep us posted.
