Case 1394 final drive question

I finally got time to tear the final drive off the Big White Machine today, which posses a new question. If you dont care to click on the new link, I have a photo there where I am pointing to a sleeve on the half shaft. My question is this sleeve was just sitting loose in the final drive after I took it off so I am assuming it just slid off the half shaft. The seals didnt have no noticeable tears or grooves, but when I try to slide the non beveled end of this sleeve onto the shaft it stops shorts a couple inches from bottoming out against the drum. It looks like the seals ride on this sleeve. Is this sleeve maybe bad causing my leak? Is is supposed to be drove on the shaft till it bottoms out? Could it have slipped out of place causing my leak? I just don"t see what would keep your hydraulic fluid from coming in between the sleeve and shaft and leaking in the final drive like it is.

Your link doesn't work.

Was this collar/sleeve on the right side? 6 splines on the inside, lots on the outside, a couple grooves around it??? If so that is your differential lock sleeve.

Hey RG. There are no splines in this collar. It
was on the right/passenger side rear. maybe one of
these links will work here. A picture is worth a
thousand words.
