On the 1070 I'm thinking of buying

I talked to the previous owner and he said the pto clutch is slipping, they changed it about 500 hours ago, can it be adjusted? Also the motor only has about 1500 hrs and has a bit of blow by and uses a little oil, is that unusual? Again thank you for your help.

I can't help you with the PTO question, but as far as burning a little oil, how much is a little? It may be from valve guides that were not replaced during a rebuild, or maybe the sleeves were just honed and not replaced, you really don't know what exactly was done to the engine. That being said, many tractors that are used every day burn a little oil and it is not a problem if you are in the habit of checking the dipstick every morning that you use the tractor. Don
