Case 870 powershift

This year when baling hay with 870 I noticed when I put it in reverse it makes a squealing and lurches some. I bale in 3-1 or 3-2. I notice this worst in 3-R. 1-R is fine. Backing the baler in the shed is kinda a jumpy project in 3-R . The forward speeds shift great in all ranges.
What do you think?

First off, 3rd reverse is a pretty high gear for backing a peice of equipment into a shed. First range reverse would be more sensable. All the power shifts have a whine in reverse, and more noticable in the higher ranges.
Also when backing up, plant your heel on the floorboard and bend your foot to feather the inching spool.

Dan: You sure do travel when baling!! Agree w/ Loren 100%. When backing, to insure long life of the tranny, idle down & gear down, there-by reducing or eliminating slippage.

cab mounts are very touchy indeed. maybe should change mine ,,,can anyone give me a rule of thumb measure as to when they need attention ?? serveral yrs ago . I backed out at a angle from a lean to ,, and like to run off with the whole damshed ! when the cab brushed against the mainsupport beam , no clutch and reved the throttle ! nuthin responded except for kill switch!... thank gawd ,.in the past had pulled straight in and out no problem , oh yeah ,, just got the junkyard dawg 1070 and I had to air the slowleak rear tire each time I used it,,.kinda made it taller ,, lol,,. boy-o-boy!.. case likes to go backwards FAST,,.my 800,730 and early 1070 ggoes way to fast for me... btw ,,.if a guy ever injures his rite hand /arm or has rotater cup problems ,(like I did) , all those control levers on the rite need oiled up with wd-40 ,, that helps a lot ... also don't know if anyone else has tried this,at my sons suggestion... i painted the rangeshift levers RED the p/s levers Orange , and the throttle Yellow . pto lever also RED.. 3 pt lever I painted lime green... color coding the power groups helps us slip seaters around here who don't drive the 1070 but a few times a year ...
