Work on my 1160 combine.

Got my 1160 out to get it ready to do oats this year. Got a lot of little stuff to do to get it ready, but got a good start. First thing on the agenda was to get everything freed up again. The clutch shaft was stuck as well as the brake pivot and the header drive clutch assy. I tried to work them loose, but was only successful with the brake pivot, the header clutch and drive clutch had to be taken apart. I started with the drive clutch since that was the biggest job. As is typical for cases of that vintage some stuff was ingeniously done, some frustratingly difficult. Take the shield over the drive belt, it is impossible to take that off with the tire on, and the thing is HEAVY. They made that shield out of 10ga and 3/16" angle. It feels like it's half the combine weight, and held on by 10 or 12 3/8" fine thread bolts. What a pain. Once that was off, getting the clutch housing off was easy. And if you're wondering, no you can't get the bell housing off to make it easy to pound out the clutch shaft until you get the shaft out. Also you can pound on the shaft as long as you want and it won't come out til you remove the snap ring. LOL. Anyways, got that loose and back together no problem.
