Centre Exhaust

Hi Folks, a friend of mine is going to buy a rare Case tractor in your part of the world.Am I right in thinking the early SC tractors was fitted with a centre exhaust. MJ

Actually, the SC's were changed mid-1941 to side exit exhausts. There were several running changes to the SC throughout the years, but from late 1940 to mid 1941, the SC's had the center exhaust. They also had larger shelled fenders where the lights mounted, a 6-spoke steering wheel, flat cast rears, S-style air cleaner and pressed steel front wheels. As mentioned before, the real early SC's had a smooth block. My tractor, #4501960, has the smaller fenders, a 3 spoke wheel, and a ribbed block, but had the center exhaust still. There is no telling if the fenders were replaced at one time, or if this was just a model that was made during the running production change.

Either way, not many of them turn up, and it is good to see one saved.

Even rarer are the Case S Models with the center exhaust. Don Livingston has the only one that I have ever seen. I assume that it is original.

Your fenders have been changed. Our 41's both had the larger fenders. Latest SN is 4567548.
