Picked up a VAC a couple of days ago. VAC's are totally new to me. If I plumb in a hydraulic coupler will the pump handle a little one way cylinder like on a sickle mower.

As stated, the belt pulley piston pump is high pressure (2,000 psi) piston pump while the engine mounted gear pump is spec'd at 900 psi. The belt pulley pump will operate any cylinder rated for that much pressure but is limited to the volume of fluid (oil) held in the belt pulley housing. The low pressure pump uses the torque tube as its' reservoir and is better suited for larger dia. cylinders to get the same ram force BUT the pump output volume is about 3x the belt pulley pump's flow. I have a '48 with a 3-point using the belt pulley pump and center-yoke 1 1/2" cylinder and it will lift and carry a 5' K. Kutter rough-cut rotary mower. So, I agree with the others that, if 2,000 psi is enough for your application, the belt pulley pump will work for your application. Dad ran a hydro hose off the high pressure pump and pulled a 2-14 hydraulic plow and it did fine.

which system? the live one or the belt pulley pump? the live pump is a low pressure system, 900-1100psi these will work fine, the belt pulley pump system is high pressure and will blow a normal hyd cylinder and are low gpm as well
