Case tractors and Studebaker trucks?

I am working on a series of articles for the National Studebaker Drivers Club magazine and I was wondering if any of you or your family ran Studebaker trucks in your farming operations?

I would love to have the story behind them and pictures of possible. I would send you the article before publication for an accuracy check.

If there were pics of the trucks and a Case tractor that would be fantastic! Maybe we could get the Studebaker truck guys into Case tractors as well!

You might talk to Joe Jackmovich from Rapid City SD. He is a Studebaker nut. Not sure if he has all the cars and trucks he had when he lived in Eastern SD. His daily driver is a mid 30's 2 door. I can get contact information if you are interested. DK

I know a man here who bought two grain trucks new, has used them ever since and keeps them shedded, he did repower them some time back but other than that they are stock and in great shape, he loves to mess with kids who think they have hot rods as these trucks have built 350's in them, I can see if he is interested as well, he farmed with CASE also, he bought a new 1030/1370/1570 are some of the ones I know about

I know a man in our tractor club that has 2 Studebaker trucks with consecutive serial numbers that came from the factory with Detroit's in them.

Zane,

I know of 4 Studebaker/Case dealers off the top of my head, Heling's Gagage, Burnett, WI, Elbow Lake Auto and Implement, Elbow Lake, MN, I believe the dealership in Dewitt, IA and the dealership in Alva, OK. There are probably several more out there, so I'm certain there were Case/Studebaker farmers as well. I have 2 Studebaker trucks, but never used them in our farming operation. I sure would like to read that article when you get it done. Don

Casenut, would you be able to get any pictures of the trucks and tractors? That would be fantastic if you could! Thank you, Zane

Thank you Don for that information. I never thought about a combined dealership. That will be some interesting research for me. Thanks again, Zane.

Studebaker started putting Detroit 3-53's and 4-53's in their trucks in 1962 and they went through the end of production in 1964. There were only 702 Diesel trucks built total. This includes all trucks from 1 ton up to 2 ton.

I would be interested in talking to your friend if he is interested in talking Studebakers?

Thank you, Zane

Thank you CNT. If he has an email address that he wouldn't mind giving to me, I would love to chat. Thanks, Zane.

I can check with him but he is 75 years old or more I do not think he has a e-mail, I will see if I can get a hold of him though, I will be seeing him at the elevator soon though

I have a friend that is trying to restore a 1 ton Stud and looking for pickup box at a reasonable price? Any ideas?
