serial # ???

A friend gave me the serial # to his VA. I told him I would look up the serial # so he would know what year it is but these #s don't show up on the serial # check on the left side of this page. Am I doing something wrong. The # he gave me was VA15159960

I bet he has a vai which makes the first # 1 showing an i instead of a one. Subtract 4 from the first 2 digits and you have a vai 5159960 making it a 47 vai.
subtractiong 4 doesn't work with those beginning with 60. the last 2 years they changed the system.

I think the number is probably "VAI 5159960", which would be a 1947 VAI (industrial) tractor.
