Raking alfalfa

My 11 year old raking some old stand alfalfa that got about 1.5" of rain on it. 970 case and H&S Rake.

WOW what a big rake!

I rake with an old 9ft side delivery rake and if I roll 2, 9ft swaths together it makes a very big windrow.

On a personal note I want to say how glad I am to see you teaching your son a good work ethic.

This rake is small compared to what most of the neighbors use. They are putting around 54 feet of hay in one windrow. ( 3 - 18' swaths ) We are putting 36' ( 2- 18' ) swaths. We usually get some spring rains and then the water shuts off until around September. We might get 2 cuttings on alfalfa on an average year.
