Question for Case mechanics

A good friend of mine has a 1030 that the PTO clutch keeps tightening up on him. Apparently the pin that holds the clutch adjusting ring is not doing it's job. The pin and the spring are new. Is it possible that the housing the pin is in is worn too badly? The pin seems to have an awful lot of "slop" movement. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks, Don

It must be an early 1030. Because early one adjust one way and later one are the opposite. Not sure at what serial number they switched. Had the same trouble with mine it would tighten up when bush hogging from the impact of mowing trees. After braking it the second time I switched it to a late moble and never had any more troubled out of it.
