Just watching the second cut Alfalfa grow around here. T storms every day, had some damage just to our north a few days back, barn destroyed and lots of trees down, and power outages.

Geez Tom that hay crop looks good to me. How soon after mowing is the hay dry enough to bale. Do you have alfalfa this year? Rod.

Trying to wrap up what we cut yesterday and Mother Nature put a stop to it. Baled about 50 4x5 and had about 30 to go and came a shower and shut it down at about 6 pm. Had it all in a windrow so it will take some fluffing to get it dried out. There was no dew here this morning which is rare for us{north west Ark.)Was able to get the sickle mowers going at about 7:30. raked that part of it about 5:30 this evening and it realy looked good. Hate so see bright pretty hay get wet. Supposed to rain the next three days. Was the first to get wet this year. It was native grasses for the most part.

Rod, it takes two days in this heavy stuff a half a day less in the lighter hay, yes almost every field I have has alfalfa/grass mix

Looks like your oats crop will keep the trucks busy. Not many grown around here anymore. One guy I know plants about a 100 acres every year. He is in a good location and sells most to horse people.
