brought home a realy nice 2294,no hydraulics of any kind, assumed it was going to be pump drive gears but, every thing is turning, pulled plug on filter housing maybe a quart and a half, not enough, thinking screen now,how does the filter housing actualy get full?

The filter housing is filled and CHARGED with oil from the charge pump. The charge pump is keyed to the same drive as the other pumps. I have seen that key shear and you will loose all hyd's even though the main pumps are turning. That filter housing should be full of low pressure oil when tractor is running. Possible badly plugged suction screen also. Rod.

Rod you are my hero, key was sheared, but Case in all there infinite wisdom put an extra in the trans.and when I drained the oil it came out cha ching, put her all back together,3 1/2 hrs labor, and ready,(and they told me trans was out)even a blind sow will occasionaly find an acorn.ready to start on 2394 with every other gear gone in the 6 speed PS
