A/C Question

Do the 134A refrigerant re-fills that advertise on them that they contain a sealer & that they seal leaks really work?

John, others may have a different opinion but I do not recommend any type of sealer, I have seen issues caused by the sealer
just my thoughts
cnt

Another thought to consider is that most service shops won't work on them if they know they have had a sealer used in them. It can screw up their equipment, and cost them big bucks to repair.

I have used R134 with the stop leak sealer and they sometimes do work but most of the time they plug the receiver/dryer.

It you do use a stop leak sealer don't use more than one can

I have lost compressors because of stop leak sealers, its not fun!

John, I put dye in the system and use a black light to find leaks. On my recovery system it sealer will plug the filters and other parts of the machine. My tool man who repairs them can tell stories of the mess he has when repairing the unit.

John - do not use the sealer. It plugs the system. My Son is a Certified Master Tech and says it will do more harm than good. Bob

Question? I have never seen one post on this subject that recommends sealer. If no one says its good and all says its bad, Why do they make it? Every place I have seen that sells Refridgent has cans of it on there selves.

and then they can sell you more repair parts, bbut yes that is my thoughts people want a "easy fix" even if it creates more problems than it fixes

Thanks for all the replies men. I would have tried it, but after your input, I will not. Thanks again.
