The original subject was "Re: Case 300 Hand Clutch adjustment".

I can not move my hand clutch over center. It was this way when I bought the tractor, a 57 Case 300. I feel the clutch is adjusted too tight for the lever to go over center. Standing on the left of the tractor and facing forward. towards the rear of the engine, which direction would I turn the clutch adjusting yoke to loosen the clutch. To the left to loosen or to the right. I would like to de-adjust the clutch till the lever would go over center, then re-adjust for the proper over center pull.

Larry it's been awhile but this thread should be correct. You'll be turning the main shaft with the input gear, CW to loosen facing forward, the drum remains stationary.

In any event you will know pretty quickly if you are going the right direction. It doesn't take many pin pulls to loosen the disks if the clutch was assembled correctly.

Turning clockwise should loosen it. Don't forget there are 2 pins but only 1 will engage at a time.
