RETRATION
A while back, I posted that my 990 had both brakes where they wouldn't move. WQell, found out this afternoon, after hitching it to my H and trying to pull it to where I could put a battery charger onto it sos I could reload the new fuel filters that the tractor wouldn't move. Thought about the emergency brake that my boy might have put on, and I had read about in the near worthless (Drivers Guide) I got. Released it, and found I had a lot of play in the R Brake. Way more than I think I should, like 4in travel from back tyo as far forward as it will travel
While measuring the travel of the R Brake, I got down and noticed that the L Brake isn't hooked to anything, and dosent look like it ever was. Theres the emergency brake handle bar that goes from the handle to underneath both brakes, but nothing on the L brake.
Ill go out again and see if theres anything comeing out of the axle on the L hand side.
Saw that there is a rod that goes from the brake rod, across the underneath and to the L side brake pedal. Took a pipe wrench to the rod on the L side, and got it to move easy WITH THE PIPE WRENCH. Its plenty stiff.
