2290 Remotes

Can someone please explain how to adjust the remote detent? The remote valve when held in the rearward position to run a hydraulic driven motor keeps popping back to the neutral position. How do I adjust the Detent to make the lever remain rearward?

Does it pop off raising a cylinder or just running that motor? If the motor is running at near system pressure to do the work it will kick the detent out. The spring tension can be adjusted by loosening the large nut on the cap bottom and screwing the plug in but I would tee a gage in at the coupler to see how much pressure you are using.

mEl,
Thanks for your reply. We were trying to rake hay
using a New Holland 216 rake. Truth is the remotes
are weak. They do not spin the baskets fast enough
to keep the hay moving when it gets heavy. So the
remotes are weak and continue to kick out. I do not
have a flowmeter. where should i start?

Those generally have excellent hydraulic both pressure and flow as they are a pfc system. Did you check the flow control by the spool to see if it has the flow cut down. If this is not the problem you may have to have it diagnosed by someone who has both the knowledge and special hookups for the flowmeter.

They are just not as simple as the old open center systems and diagnosing via internet is tough.

There are a couple others on here who I believe have more experience than I with them, we sold them but never had much problems except for an occasional pilot check oring in the valve.
