Removal of Injector pump? on 900 D Brown

Do you have a round cover in front of the pump on the front of the timing cover? Some do, some don't, lots more work if you don't.

If you don't have the cover on the front to get the gear off the pump...

Pull the hood, drain radiator, remove radiator, remove timing cover, mark gears so you get timing right when you reinstall the pump, unbolt timing gear from front of pump, remove lines from pump, remove 3 bolts that hold the pump to the timing housing.

Take care not to turn the engine over while you have the pump off so your marks keep the timing.

Well, that aint happening till I get the hay bailed. And have the money to do it. What do you think of my boys idea of trying to bale with it running off of the front top pin? that the pull knob is attached to?

Thanks for all the advice, and help. Im saving all the comments for my boy to read when he comes here on Sat. Thanks again.

The one on the front shuts off the fuel. Did you look at that exploded view in the link I gave you yesterday?

I think you are crazy trying to run it off the SHUTOFF lever. You need to befriend someone who is a mechanic, to check out the throttle linkage to make sure it IS moving the throttle arm on the pump. You also need to get an ops manual, and sit down and read it.
If you run it trying to bale with it, the next post we will likely see here will be (Where can I find an Injection pump for a DB990), and down in implement alley (How do I unplug my round Baler?)

No, But, I took the arm off of the connecting rod the throttle lever was attached to, and its springy.

Thanks Loren. I was hoping for a response to that idea, to show my boy how foolish you and I think it is.

As to unplugging bailers, I got a workout last year with my neighbor bailing my hay. He had never baile3d haygrazer before. He was used to pararie hay,. I helped him unplug his bailer around 6 times. I was 65 then, and we did it in early Sept. likta killed me.

IF the throttle arm doesn't feel springy when you move it by hand then the spring, #2 in that pic, is probably disconnected. That I might try to fix myself. Your call.
