pto reducer sickle mower

Ive got a 1 3/8 pto shaft and bought an old deere sickle mower that takes a much smaller pto shaft.

What size/type of adapter should I be looking for and where would I find it?

typically the older deere mowers would have split shell clamp on pto shafts as Deere had 1 1/8 1 3/8 and 1 3/4 ptos at one time. if yours is not this type, my hunch is that it is for 1 1/8 shaft.

1 3/8" would have been the most common. You should be able to find the front 1/2 of the PTO shaft to fit without much trouble. There are dozens of those old JD mowers around.

It is a clamshell. Its smaller that 1 3/8 so its gotta be a 1 1/8
