powershift rebuild, AgriKing, Rod, Others

Hopefully sometime in the next couple weeks I am going to be getting around to splitting my 2294 and going through the powershift in it. What I was wondering is if anybody here has ever used any of the aftermarket sintered plates in a powershift rebuild or not and what kind of experience they had with them.

I'm guessing you are talking about the C-2 C3 plates from A&I? Anything from A&I I approach with caution. The radiators & tie rods have been ok. I'm not willing to be a test stand for their stuff. Pass experiences with other stuff has been bad. China junk.

I have never rebuilt a ps, but I have thrown a lot of money away on A&I parts just to go to the dealer and order the same part from CNH. The bottom line is if it is still available by CNH (or the OEM like Cummins etc.) you will never regret buying it from them! Quality standards are much better than the cheap Chinese aftermarket parts provide. JMHO

I have never used aftermarket sintered plates and do not think I would. As the other guys mentioned the OEM plates have proven to be good with very little wear when operated and serviced correctly. What I have done when on a tight budget is got some used ones. I live close to a major salvage yard and will take a micrometer and go through their bins measuring used plates and purchasing the ones with the least wear, many with only .005 worn off. virtually like new. The price is normally less than half new because most all CASE tractors used these and they have hundreds of them. If my tractors would ever need replacing that's where I will go for mine. Rod.

Not to much! Lol. And A&I is fully owned by JD now. JD isn't stupid by selling parts for all colors. It's the parts quality issue.

I agree with AgriKing, I work on john deere tractors full time and the only A&I parts I will install is something that can be easily replaced again. IE: tie rod ends, radiators, etc. If you are thinking about using any of there trans, or engine parts you are begging for trouble!! There part quality is horrible. Cheaper is not better!!!!
