Which way to turn powershift adjustment screws

Looks like you would turn them in to soften the up shifts. If they are needles. My one-two up shift is very aggressive and two three is ho-hum. Thanks Tom

The restrictor screws control the 1 to 2 upshift and 2 to 1 downshift. The others 2 to 3 up and 3 to 2 down are preset so to speak. Setting the C2 restrictor is for 1 to 2 upshift. First always shift the lever quickly, trying to shift it slow can make for a hesitation and jumpy shift. In a perfect world you turn the screw in so you have a crisp upshift with no hesitation. But if you get it turned in a little to far when you depress clutch it with make it seem as though you slammed the brakes on. This is more likely to happen when the oil is cold. You just have to find a happy medium as oil temp affects these settings. The C3 restrictor setting is far less fussy for the downshift, you do not want a hesitation and if you get it restricted to much you will hear the engine pull down briefly as the shift is made. If everything is operating correctly you will have crisp quick shifts up and down. Any soft or slow shift is reason for concern. Rod.

Forgot to add by turning the screws in you restrict oil slowing clutch release. Backing out screws releases oil quicker, go to far out and the shift can have a hesitation. Go to far in and the engine will labor during shift. Rod.

Thanks for the clear and simple explanation. Not sure I'll need to get into this on the 2590 anytime soon but nice to know the basic principles of the system.
