My new SO runs ok but has to have the chock out about 3/4 inch and if you throttle up to fast it acts like it might die, but if you throttle back quick it does not die. The Mag is turned in all the way toward the block (retarded I think)? Is it possible the timing could be off 180 degrees? DB

Dick: Doesn't sound like timing to me. Sounds like lack of fuel. Sed. bowl clean? Take the drain plug out of the bottom of carb & let a pint of fuel run. The last of the stream should run as fast as the 1st of the stream. That will tell you if you an uninterrupted flow of gas to the carb. Check that out 1st. Load screw on the carb should be out 1-1/2 to 2 full turns.
