1470 working ground 2014

I actually got to work 60 acres on Saturday with the 1470 and my "new" "WWC37", after setting it to run level both directions it really does a nice job, I know most of you out there do mainly no-till or min-till so my way of summer fallow is some what odd but here it works very well, the 31' plow with rolling harrows does take some effort to pull it but the 1470 handles it fine in 4th gear @ 5.2mph, I have 16" sweeps on 12" spacing so I am moving all the soil at least twice and it really seems to be what I need to kill the early growth and creating a good seed bed at the same time, I am hoping to not to have to make another trip over with the leveler but I will see how this first field goes

Kevin, it almost all melted today and tomorrow is going to be real nice then Wednesday they say we are going to get another shot of rain/snow mix, better than Ande's country has it they still have 8' of frost!!

thanks Don, I do need to fix the exhaust on the 1470, do you have this dealer? I do not remember if I posted this one or not

Looks good Tom, the 1470 handles it with ease if the pyro means anything. Do you have any hills that give it a work out. Sure wish I had a leveler on the back of my field cult like that, yours does a nice job. Rod.

As always, great pics again CNT. Glad to se one of the triplets is out in the dirt. No chance of that here for awhile in Southern Minnesota.

Don, But before the snow came, I had about 2 inches of rain. But my friend in Two Rivers had about 3 1/2 and the fields there all have lakes. It will be May before any chance of planting oats. But Tisch Mills Farm Center did get the nitrogen on my wheat field on Friday. Al

Impressive fields an equipement!Do keep those photos coming of nicest color an tractor was ever painted! Might want to get that water temperature warmer though.

Tom! My first 4wd was a 1470 with 23.1x26 tires. I had them filled 1/2 with calcium. plumb full it killed power and empty hopped. 1/2 was just right. Rode great, much better than the ones I had after. List of ones I have had after the 1470. 555 Vert.18.4x34 duals , 4690 Case 20.8x34 duals, and now 9230 CaseIH 18.4x38 duals no water in the rest. .

Thanks Tom,

I actually do have them in the database. I ran into the children and grandchildren @ Albert City, IA several years back. Really nice people. Don

Hello Al,

Are you as sick of this weather as I am? It looks like another 2 weeks at least until we can even think of getting on the land. It'll be planting and hauling manure at the same time. Oh well, if it was easy everyone would be doing it. Don

Tell me about the rolling harrow Tom. I'd like to mount something like that on my field cultivator. The old 3 bar harrow is about shot.

Erik, this is the first one I have had/used and seen, it really seems to do a good job on the soil I used it on so far, one thing I do know is it takes power to pull it compared to the tine style harrows I have on other units, so far I like the way it leaves the ground, sorry do not know a lot about it yet, you may be able to see it better in this pic
