We are rebuilding the engine in our 1070
The block, at the bottom were the "o" rings go is pitted on some of the cylinders.
I wanted to know if you guys just lube the "o" rings, or do you use some kind of sealant/lube.
also, will some pitting be okay, or is something I should be concerned with with

There is a lot of ways to install the sleeves and they might all work depending on how bad the pitting is. A machine shop would say bore it and install sleeves in the lower bore, some including myself have repaired some pits with JB weld, using it as a sort of body filler. Some have used silicone sealant on the bore and orings, this is not recommended but people have told me it works. Lubricating soap is most widely recommended but if there is pits to deal with you will have to decide what rout to take. Because we can't feel or see those pits it is hard to suggest what you should do. Could have someone else that has dealt with these problems take a look. Rod.

Just will say to be careful not to put much jb weld on as it is hard to file excess off.Works fine though. An if you dont have water filter on Bars leak would be good insurance. We used many years on ours both new an old.

Actually body filler works, and it'sa lot easier to smooth off than jb weld. If the pits are deep though I think JB is better. I did the body filler trick on my 1370 13 years ago. no problems.
