Need 26" rim (13x26?) for Case D we are working on (try

We got this old D a few months ago, we just got it running after having the head redone, it still needs some carb work (running too rich) but the more pressing issue is that the rim on the left side is rotting out, the tube was bulging out of it the size of a cantaloupe!

I know it may be a long shot, but we need a new rim. I contacted "a big salvage yard" and they said they didn't have anything that size, please help us get this thing rolling!

Our last ditch effort will be to weld in a patch, but it's a pretty big hole so we'll have to get the patch rolled & shaped to fit, and it won't be pretty!

I have welded let of rims. If you don't find a replacement heres
what I do. I cut a patch out of another wheel that gives you a
bead or rib or what ever you need. Cut the patch first then
place over the rust trace around and cut out rust. Don't just
patch over the rust. Cut out rust and grid till your patch fits the
hole. Then weld in flush. Lots more work but looks way better.

If you can find a salvage John Deere 45 or IH 303 Combine measure the center of the drive wheel, I think it will measure the same as your D. Take off the tire, grind off the rivets that hold the center in, knock out the center, weld the rivet holes shut, and weld on a drive lug and you should be set. I used a set of JD 45 rims on our McCormick Super W-4 a couple of years ago. Our D Case looks to have the same type rims as our Super W-4. Combine rims won"t have calcium chloride damage.

Where at you located ? I have 2 very good 26 "
rims for a O-6 McDeering cheap here in So Calif .
Lemme know, I'll likely be going to Tulare if that

Upstate, NY.. meet halfway? (kidding!!)

Thanks anyways!!

I can't tell how much drop is in the rim in the picture where it would clamp to the wheel on your D, but it is the type I referred to. What are they off of?

It says they are from (or will fit) a JD 55

If they are for 26" tires and the same width as your rims they should work. I would have guessed that a JD 55 might have had 28 inch rims and a wider width but I am not familiar with the JD 55.

We ended up getting the JD55 wheels, they look like they will work just fine. thanks a lot for the help!

Just need to get some paint on them ASAP!
