does any body know the difference between a 1210 and a 1212 case DB ,good or bad tractor i am a 30 seres guy thanks tom in ky

1210 usually is 2WD and usually has a regular crashbox tranny.

1212 that I have seen seem to often be 4wd and usually have a powershift type tranny.

Very little accurate info in that...

1210s are all partial syncro boxes(by the serial number tags). The crash boxes ended with the 1200. Case did sell "1210 with powershift" on the American market, but the serial tags said 1212. 1210s were available as mechanical front wheel assist.

1212s are all semi-powershifts, 1212s were not offered as a 4x4, the gearbox intruded into the space needed for the drop box.

As to the "good tractor" Some love them, some hate them. The crankshafts do not like being "lugged", many out there with a broken crank, being lugged is the common denominator, this is enhanced by cranks which have been improperly reground. If it won't pull it at 2000 rpm, don't pull it.

Like anything else they are 40 years old, and have suffered varying degrees of care or abuse. Mostly abuse. By now most are leaking oil from various places, have rusted out tin, and no working electrical devices.

My everyday tractor is a 1971 1210 that I my dad bought in the early 80s when I was with him. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

Honest 65 pto hp, 6600 pounds dry, nice handy chore tractor, nimble, live PTO and hydraulics, 2speed pto, diff lock

I can"t speak to specifically having a 1212, but I will concur with everyone else, its the hydro-shift/power shift version of the 1210. I have a 1210, been very happy with it. I mostly run hay equipment with it, a Cut/ditioner and baler and handles those with ease. For the amount of power its very easy on fuel. Also does well grading the lane with a scraper blade.
