I know the diesels sound great with a straight pipe. I have a 930 gas needs a new muffler. I was thinking of a chrome straight pipe.... Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, john

Thanks that what I will do. Off subject...CCSC, do they make a belly more for the sc? Thanks again john

Steve has it right. Gas will be twice as loud as the diesel. Much sharper tone also. Go for the muffler and do not punch the center plug out either.

Diesels with Turbo's really don't need a muffler. My 930 gas was just tooo loud. Went around saying WHAT for two days. You can get them from John

Some turbo diesels sound good with those straight pipes. The non turboed Case 6 cly tractors always made a bit of a grumpy sound I thought, the word pleasant is not what I would use to describe it. Others might enjoy it. I'm with casecollectors on this one, the muffler is the only way to go. Rod.

I'm wondering if the power cells would rather have the back pressure from the muffler, just my take

Well, go to your local auto parts store and see if they can get you a "cherry Bomb" muffler that will fit. They take the bite out of the bark, but sound like power.
You may need to add an extension pipe on the outlet though.
Loren.
