My 1170 working

Here are video clips of my 1170 working spanning the middle 15 years of the 34 years I have had it. Turn the sound up if you expect to hear it run.

I got this tractor around 1980 to mainly do the heavy tillage. Several tractors have come and gone but the 1170 is a keeper.

Lamont, My opinion is the 1170 is a bare bones workhorse. The tranny is quiet. The engine is smooth, quite, has good lug characteristics, and does not smoke. The 70 series cab was the best in the industry during that era. There is something about the seat and arm rests that fits my anatomy just right.

Mine came from the factory with the optional 20.8-38 tires. 4th gear and the big tires seem ideal for heavy tillage.

I bought it used with 2500 hrs. It was discounted because it had no air conditioner. No problem. For summer, I have a link for the back window that will hold it open up to horizontal. The door is easy to remove for summer and install for winter because the way the hinges are made. The right side window opens wide. I ride in the breeze and shade most of the day.

The interior gets dusty but not wet. My barn is low and open on one side and there is ALWAYS a slot for the 1170 to be parked under roof even with a wide implement still hooked up. The 1170 is a keeper.
