My new 440 ?

I just got this -bought it for 1200 as a 430 .I believe it is a frankenstiened 440 . I can't find the ID plate on it. Anybody wanna help me figure out what it should be when its in paint. Seems to have a solid engine -I'll know more when I do the carb,I have a marvel Scheibler to put on it. Seemed to smoke very light blue for a bit when it had just warmed up. But after the second run it seemed to get better. An oil change -tuneup,and a few hours running will tell. I think its a 440 but not positive . The fenders might help identify the year. It has none but has a complete left floor board for the fenders that wrap to the floor boards and bolt down to offer protection like the 300 does. I made the floor boards for my 300 and have a right original that must have been removed when it was new it looks brand new ($35.00 at a yardsale 20 years ago. Note the custom grill. Kinda neat.It also has the older style gauge cluster. (its missing)

Another request - I need return springs for the 3 pedals on both the 440 and the 310. Where should I look for them. Gonna need some other stuff as $ permits.I have 2 more incomplete parts tractors a 311 and a 310 square nose fork lift to cannibalize as needed. Thanks again Mr Bill

Looks like a 540 to me. 440 would have the battery under the hood and the grille "screens" would be shorter. Also hood is one piece covering the fuel tank on the 440.

VACLee is right.... It looks like you have an early 540 with a dual range shuttle. If the springs are still on your donor tractors, they would be correct for the 540.

I had thought for a bit a 540 but then because of the fender style I thought , no it can't be a 540 then last night I saw that they used tose fenders on the 540 utility too. The donor tractors have broken clutch pedals and no springs. So I need springs for both tractors especially the clutch so it doesn't rid on the TO bearing. I kinda wish I could eventually move the loader from the 310 round nose to the 540 but I think it would ne revamping which I don't have the health to do. One of the donors was burnet and the sheet metal removed (311) The forklift has the 2 speed shuttle. IN my mind they are the best tractors from that era in their class.
