Hello guys, thanks for reading. My 2290 powershift here has an issue im hoping you may have seen before. It is very hard to shift into first and second gear. I mean i really have to push. It will go in and gears work fine and everything works as it should but just hard to get it there. This tractor is well cared for and has good clean hytran and regular filter changes. Has about 3600 hours on it. I did remove the black cover in the cab and lubricated what i could down there while i was in there because i had to replace the fuel shutoff cablebut i think its beyond that that quadrant has plastic bushings in it anyway i believe. I sure hope i didnt bend something inside. I have used it this winter to blow snow with and one cold morning it started this. One day fine, next day not. What you think??? Thanks so much

Have someone try to shift it in and out of those gears while you go and watch on the RH side of the trans behind the front area of the rear tire. You will see the shifting linkage moving up and down moving a shaft going into the trans. Lubricate the shaft with a penetrating oil where it enters the housing. After some use it should begin moving easier. The oring that seals the shaft is located in about a inch leaving a area were the shaft can get rusty inside making it hard to turn. You can remove the pin connecting the link rod to the shaft and then everything in the cab should move very easy confirming that it is the shaft getting tight, Rod.

Wow thamks for the fast response rod.I guess im not the only night owl lurking on YT! Yes i see that shaft and how it works> Ill try getting it lubricated and make sure its clean too. Thank you very much ill try to post back tomorrow
