Melvin Bennett

After 52 years of being a Case mechanic at the same dealer-Mel will officially retire on April 1st! [And he"s no fool!!] What dedication and work ethic! I can only imagine all the wrenches that were turned and all the "bloody knuckles" over the years! He will be missed at the Waltz dealership-not only by his co-workers, but by his customers that he has serviced for so many years. Mel has been and will no doubt continue to be the "go to guy"!

Mel, I congratulate you on your retirement and pray for many more prosperous years for you and your dear wife Carol.

Now you get to shift gears and tackle all those things that you wanted to do or should have done!
I"m thankful that I can pick up my phone and call you anytime to talk or ask your opinion and advice on my tractor problems! You are a friend to me and to many here on this board.

Melvin, congratulations again!

Congratulations Mel! After you retire, you"re going find the real meaning of "being busy". But it is an enjoyable busy.

Wishing you the best.

Joe

My hat is off to you mEl, and glad you can enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Like one friend tells me every day, "It"s Saturday Dan".
Hope I can follow you in a few years.

Thanks to all for the kind words. It has been a real journey from the 00 and 30 series when I started part time employment after school hours to the present.

On this forum I am just one of many voices with knowledge of the product. Yes I survived the 70-90 series mods as several others on forum and I have seen all the issues close up with powershift and sungear and diff thrust washer failure and cage updates.

I count it a priviledge to have served the forum in the capacity that I have and intend to do so in the future. The last true Case tractors that I have training and any meaningful experience with are the 94s and 96s and Maxxums. I will gladly defer to those with knowledge of later products. I prefer to think we all work together for the benefit of our readers, ones knowledge building upon anothers.

Lastly but most important I would like to thank Brad for his kind words and more importantly He and Connie's friendship and hospitality and the fully furnished upstairs apartment which they have willingly shared with Carol and I.

Again, thanks to all.

mEl

mEl, you don't want to just get fat and lazy sitting in a rocking
chair. Now that you're "unemployed" why don't you take a trip to
Cambodia and help me out for a few years? Months? Weeks? Days?

Mel, congratulations on your retirement. We have never met, but I've learned so much by reading your posts. Thanks, and keep up the good work!

Congratulations Mel, have visiting this sight for only a year or two I have come to realize perhaps no one is more educated in a huge variety of CASE products and their workings. A great asset you have to be for the dealership, your presents will surely be missed. Rod.

Congratulations Mel! If you are like me you won't be able to figure out how you had time to work. Day's fly by when you do what you want and people will think you have all this time. Until you retire you don't know how you can be this busy. Thanks for sharing on here, your knowledge is appreciated by all. Hope the best for you in your retirement and may it be a long one!

Congratulations Melvin from the Shultz's.

What an incredible asset he's been to the entire Central PA area, and to people all around the globe now through this site because of the web. Anybody who has Cases in Central PA knows Melvin is he go-to guy for tough questions. You can't be around the guy without learning something new every time. It's a privilege to call him a friend.

Enjoy your retirement Mel!
