680 CK/Auction Pics

At a local consignment auction today I saw a Case 680 Construction King backhoe. I was really intrigued by this as I had never heard of a 680 CK before. What years were they made, and were they a limited production run? It had a four cylinder gas engine. The 680 ended up selling for $3,800.

There was also a nice gas Case 580 CK at the auction as well. This one sold for $2,800.

Lastly, there was also a massive six bottom Case 400 semi-mounted plow. I assume this was one of the series that were actually built by White in the 70's. It sold for $575.

680's were made from 1966 thru 1990, that looked to be a 680CK, they made 680B/680C/680E/680G/680H/680K/and 680L's the last three series or so can have 4wd as well, tht unit also had the manual extendahoe another CASE first's in the industry, that one should have had a 267 gas or dsl both 730 engines, they were great hoes just made for bigger jobs we sold several every year from 1966-1976, the last one we sold was a 680E, it had air brakes as well and a over center style backhoe, I added a couple lit scans from 680B lit the next one after the one you posted

I think that looks like an early 680? Not sure though. I was vselling case in the 60's in Turlock, CA. We sold 3-4 680's. The only problem was the weight. If you got in soft areas, the front end would go out of site. They also made a 780. A real monster.

Thanks for the information Case Nutty. I'm more familiar with the 480/580 Construction Kings and didn't know much at all about the additional/later models. The 680 sounded like it ran pretty well, but I never heard the 580 run at the sale.

That 580CK looks like a twin to my '67. I would like to have the rear fenders off of it though.
