2090 purchase

due to getting a heavier baler, I need a bit more HP and a bit more weight

I currently round bale with a 930CK 6sp

I'm thinking at least 20hp and an extra Ton weight minimum would be good.

not far, there is a 2090 8sp that I am interested in looking at.

Can you fellows give me some advice on what to check when/if I get there?
Anything "specific" about the 2090 that needs a good look?
It is only about 50 miles from home, so I'll just drive it home.

thanks in advance.

Brad.

first you will not like the road speed,on 50 miles it will seem very slow maybe 14/15 mph.ck.the high low see if it shifts good mine wants to crawl out of gear going down hill, this part is no longer available from case.other than that very solid tractors I just like the power shift a little better, but I will say they shift better than the 70 series 8 speed.

Do you have a kicker on the baler? If you need to back up for each bale you would like the power shift much better. Do not use the clutch as a variable speed control. If you keep the engine at PTO speed for every stop and take off at PTO speed you will not get along with the dry clutch very well. If you slow the engine, engage the clutch, and then go back up to PTO speed the clutch will last 5X longer.
