Case dc tractor

I'm going to buy a dc case from my uncle that's been in the
family forever. I've only worked on IH tractors so this will be a
little different. What weight of oil do you use for the engine,
hydraulics, and rear end? For the wet clutch if I just fill the
crankcase will the oil get into the clutch or do I have to fill it
separate? Anything else I should check besides the normal
things?

We have three DC tractors, a '51,'52, and'54. Dad bought the '51 new. Tough tractors.

OIL
Engine---30 for summer. Or else just s good multi-grade.
Transmission---straight 90 gear lube (about 11 gallons)
Hydraulic Pump---We run 30 non-detergent. Don't run it low.
Wet Clutch is fed with engine oil. Be sure to remove plug in pan and plug near clutch when changing oil.

We love our DCs. Only wish CASE woulda put a 5-speed in them. Low gear can be a little fast on the chopper.

when I was a kid dad and his uncles ALWAYS beat into our head that a hardworking DC MUST have a minuimum of 40 wt oil,, and to use 50 wt.in hot summer .... probably not the thing to do anymore, with modern oils we have now
 
What year is the DC? I would enjoy its story and a picture or two.

If liquid was kept in the radiator most of its life, you will probably not encounter my biggest problem restoring DCs---getting the rust flakes and rust paste out of the radiator cores and the engine block. A radiator cleaner and flush will not deal with flakes or clean cores already plugged.

I have resorted to painstakingly rodding out cores from the bottom. To keep more flakes from being pumped onto the top of the core, I have built rust traps as shown. They work. I see one pic is duplicated. The pipe plug has a STRONG magnet inserted into it. The elbow is machined as needed to weld in a pipe coupling and then a large opening is machined into the wall of the coupling entering thru the lower flange of the elbow.

I remove the plug ever once in a while and the trap is full of rust fines and flakes. The top of the core stays relative free of flakes.
