If I remember correctly on the 1370s that we used you could change from 1000 to 540 PTO by turning the shaft around, was this feature used on the 970 on up?
 
And now the 730, 830, 930, and 1030 8 speed DOM tractors can have one from a 70 series if desired.
 
come again ,????, iam always learnin ....are you saying any big 30 series that is 540 and draft -o matic will accept a later 70 series 1000 shaft ?.with no alterations to the 30 series ?.?//I have a 1971 1070 power shift set up for 540 ,, and I need to install a new clutch pak in there,,mite experiment with pto swappin with the 930 comfort king ,, if you guys say it will work,,/
 
It will not just bolt on. I have developed a kit that I sell that has everything you need to bolt the 70 series 2 speed housing on the 30 series DOM 8 speed tractors. You will use your original manual PTO lever, and your original 30 series hydraulic pump. Only way to tell it is a 2 speed PTO is the snap ring around the PTO. Kit is advertised in the classifieds. Feel free to try to do it yourself. I spent weeks making the parts to make it work. DK
