970 or 1070 Narrow/Tricycle Front

Anyone have a factory narrow front 70 series they"d like to share a photo of? Have seen them in advertising material but never the real deal working on the farm. I can"t imagine production numbers on these were very high. Thanks

here are a couple I have handy, the one is a 770 with the tri front but any early models could have them the last scan is of the proto-type hand built model, not sure if that one was clay/wood or not

Nutty

That prototype photo is GREAT! I see the "power bulge" in the hood is missing and the platform and fenders appear to be "uni-built" style. Was that prototype photo an advertising campaign or a company photo?

that is a company photo, we as dealers never seen the tractors until the Intro "70" was done at Bong Air Force Base, at least that was the first our dealership seen them anyway
cnt

they made them for sure,, but I think they are scarce as hens teeth ,, only one I ever saw was a 1070 that won the Indiana state fair pulls in 1971,,what a hoss !

, history ,I like the last pix , but I like best what went out the factory doors ... eagle was a nice touch, although it looks like afterthought ,,.nice steps ,, would abeen friendly to riders ,, but sadly it mite have killed a few when their feet slipped

I have the narrow front for my 870, I have thought of reinstalling it for shows but it is some work to take on and off, Rod.

I have a narrow front to fit my 870/970. Why anyone would do that is beyond me. Anyone that has run a narrow front tractor much would give their eye teeth for a wide front. They ride smoother and handle much better and are much more stable. I have drove them enough so I would never go back. I think they are UGLY!!

I remember the old 730 narrow fronts. Also have seen a 175 mf and 5000 Ford with narrow front. But as other said they are rare.

Guess they were made for the two row mounted corn pickers or cultivation. otherwise most would rather have wide fronts.

I would still like to have a narrow front tractor.

Heres a 770 diesel I restored and sold to Mn. Had a narrow front gas that went to Mo. also
