How many of you also collect toy tractors?

Curious how many of you collect toy tractors? I "farmed" every day after school and all summer long with my toy farm equipment. Fashioned some home made stuff too, most of which got broken and thrown out. Used to cut off Ertl axles and make new with threaded rod and nylock nuts so I could put duals and "plow duals" on them as well.

Here"re pics of what I have today. Most prized items are a couple of signed items from Fred Ertl Jr"s private collection from his first auction in 2002. Have a little bit of all colors, mostly because they are similar or same as what I played with as a child or due to having JD and Oliver/White dealers close to me when I started collected again as an adult ;-)

Nice collection. I collect Farm Toys mainly 1:64 toys cause they don't take up as much room, but I have been getting a bunch more 1:16th scale toys recently. Mainly collecting J.I. Case toys in 1:16th but have all brands in 1:64th. I have a mix of older toys from the 70's up through current day production of Ertl and Spec Cast, I have a few custom toys always looking for more of those. Favorite Toy I own are the Millennium Case Steam Engine with both variations of the canopy (green and red, the Custom Case Water Wagon to go behind the Engine, and The Pauley Custom Case Threshing Machine.

wow , nice collection.. is that a 40 -55-95 jd combine ??my b-I-l and older brother has a vast collection ,, I have some classic s that I let the grandkids play with ,,masseyharris 44 , wd allis , case 800 , and jd 630 ,,but my 930 and 3 DCs are still in the box and on the shelf,,when I was a kid my brothers and I had a pull type canvas combine that had a wheel drive working reel and canvas ,, had a ridin pedal car firetruk,a lit up TWA jet airliner and greyhound bus , and a locomotive that would puff out talcum powder.i recall the case dealer giving my brothers and me 3 matching case 800 toys ,..none of them survived childhood ,..

I have collected toys for the last 30+ years. I mostly collected 1/64th scale at first, but have started collecting more 1/16th scale. I collect whatever I like, but seem to be heavy with JD. I have collected most models of tractors that I have owned or driven. Currently have 1500+ toy tractors and implements.

I use to till they came out with a million different models, couldn't afford it anymore. Kinda used them as an investment, but not so good anymore. Sold out but kept a few custom models I had made that were never produced. Mainly just of tractors I owned and used.

In addition to my "big" toys, I've been collecting farm toys for about 20-some years now. Bought a lot of them at farm and toy auctions, and the implement dealers. Collect mostly IH, but do have some Ford, JD, MF and some Tru-Scale. My last count was around 275 toys.

I have approximately 150 1/16th scale Case and about a dozen others in that scale; 16 1/32nd Case and CIH and who knows how many others.

Have about 36 feet worth,on shelves, in my closet so the kids couldn't get at them when they were little.I also have a few Tru Scale and Ertl trucks.I have downsized over the years.

My youngest son has quite a few that we buy at shows if the price is right.

I have 350 + 1/16 scale, all brands, but, as many Case as I could get. I and a friend just put them back in there boxes as I had them all displayed. There is a large Toy store in Des Moines, Iowa, that has agreed to buy my collection and we have agreed upon a price. I am going to keep my Case ones. I still have the plastic SC model that the local Case Dealer gave me when my father bought a new DC in 1952. It is still like new. Not worth that much, but lot of memories for me. I played with my John Deere's, they were made of pot medal and would last a little longer. Must have pushed them many miles and repeated the words "put-put" a couple thousand times. ah, memories! They are all gone, but I still have the little plastic Case. Life is good.

Like the pic of the SC with the vacuum hookup to milk cows. Dad had a petcock on the DC to milk when the power went out. We've got a all painted up DC from a neighbor with a small cutout in the hood to get at the intake manifold outlet to milk cows.

Have a few maybe 15-20 all Case. Do have a original 1070 BK that I bought new, threw the box away of course but that is what a 16 year old does and remember collecting toys was uncommon in 1971. Pic is the grandson with gramps 1/8 730, Rod.

I have few Case toys, 1/64- 1/16 scale. About 1200 total. Mostly Case, but some Hesston, Kubota, and New Idea, and a good representation of Vintacge Cocksutts in 1/16 scale.
All of my Red stuff is still boxed up in a storage area.

I've collected a few. My first was a DC4 in 2004. I got most of what we had on the farm in 1:16. Then a lot of 1:64 of what I've driven over the years working for farmers here and there. And a few 1:32 4 wheel drives, including Big Bud 747. No LA available so I "had to" buy and restore that one! :)My favorite? Probably the 1:16 JD, like the B that I cut my teeth on.

Dad started back in the mid 80"s and went to Dyersville a few times to the National Show. I remember him being so proud one year when he came home with a Denver edition Magnum. He still has all of them but after his brother passed away in 96 he kinda lost interest in the hobby. It was a passion they both shared and would go together to the shows.

I kinda took over when he stopped and up till about 4 years ago still bought some occasionally. I am considering thinning my collection a bit to help fund the restoration of the DC I just bought in memory of my son. Trouble is most of them are regular shelf models as I had always looked at collecting them this way. They make limited numbers of collector editions and many of shelf versions. However over time most of those shelf versions I was betting would be played with and abused and destroyed eventually driving up their value in years to come.

I have both versions of the Williams Brothers Big Bud in all 3 scales but the wife says they STAY! (Mostly because she bought the two 1/16th scales behind my back at the time as I didn"t want to pay the 600 bucks for the two of them.) I am pretty color blind as to what I have bought, Case, IH, JD, MF, AC, Oliver. If the model striked me as neat looking I bought it allthough I do have some collector edition tractors. Not sure of the numbers but I would say around 100 1/16th scale and about the same of 1/64th plus many 1/64th implements.

I have a few. Got a lot of the red ones when I worked at the CaseIH dealership for cost. Most are dealership editions or special editions of some kind. Have slowed down but still surf ebay and runnings, the dealership etc for deals or something neat. Would like more case items but lack of toyshows within a 100 mile radius keeps things Internet driven.

Hey, where you located?? Local aerial photo company takes farm pics and puts them in the barn setting. Johnson Aerial Photos in Castlewood, SD is the company.

Loren;
In the 6th picture, is the engine 2nd from the left without the cab the Farmland engine? I have one and have never seen another. DK

Yup! I've never quite grown up either (according to my wife anyway). Several dozen, JI Case only, and 1 JD I won at the tractor club Christmas party. I think it was rigged. LOL Don

Just getting started on 1/16. Want to get real good quality of, yes, the ones i farmed with. Need a MH 444, Cockshutt 40, MH Clipper PT combine, AC D-17. That's the first of the list and will expand into the likes later if the dough holds out. Really missed the boat wanting the Caterpillar D2 with Traxcavator cable loader that was offered a few years ago, but wallet was flatter then than now.

North of Dickinson ND. That photo was taken in the 80s, and is the family homestead where my parents live. My grandparents had the photo and barn so when they passed I really wanted it. The 2094 is only a few years old in that pic.

When I was a kid, dad was collecting 1/16th scales and I had my share of 1/16th and 1/64th scale to play with. He still has some of the collection, all but a few peices boxed up, and he sold the rest years ago. I've lately started to pick up a few, going to bring them into the office. I like old steel wheel stuff, so I have a Heider C, Twin City 12-20, allis 10-18 and a couple of others. My wish list is topped by a Heider D, JD Dain and a Moline Universal. I guess the Moline Universal was a very limited run though, so I won't hold my breath on that one.
