1370 won't back up when cold

Got a customer asking me why his 1370 won't backup when cold, works fine warm. I suspect he has a spool sticking, but I do not know which one. Any help?

I would pressure check C-2 and C-4 when it is not working. When in the REV position those two circuits should have pressure. But first if it works good when warmed up the problem could be as simple as the shift linkage is not pulling the control spool quite far enough into the REV. detent. Sometimes the shift lever will hit the back of the console before getting the spool completely in the detent and will actually give you a false neutral. This can be dangerous if left in that position because the tiniest movement of the spool can cause the tractor to suddenly go backwards. I would check that shift linkage first and verify that the shift lever in the cab is getting the control spool moved completely in all 4 positions. When the tractor is cold everything moves a little harder and that tiny amount can cause this to happen, Rod.
