Looking at a 1370

Hey guys, I'm looking at a 1370 thats on an auction coming up. I went and test drove it a little bit today. Seems to run good and all the power shift quadrants engage real good. I noticed the clutch pedal feels different than I'm used to. When I ease it out it creeps forward but doesn't fully engage till all the way out. Also when going from forward to nuetral its like it eases backwards a bit when I let the clutch out. Was cold here today dont know if that had anything to do with it Just looking for some pointers and what to look for. Ps all the Trans gauges read in the green. Thanks

I have ran dozens of different tractors with the 12 speed PS every one acts a bit different and that changes with hours/wear ect as well as how the retard screws are set, when they are cold it is normal for them to back up a bit some more than others but to explain a bit when you step down on the inching pedal it shifts the trans to rev to stop gear spin as for it engaging at the top of pedal stroke as the clutch plates wear it seems to me in what I have seen the pedal engagement be at the top of stroke with no ill effects, Rod and Eric or others may add to this but this has been my experiences, however I really have to drive one to get a feel of how they are working even then its hard to be completely sure of the trannies condition

As Tom mentioned never are two exactly the same.
Temp, Oil brand and quality, tractor adjustments,
operator and driving conditions all change the way
it might act. Without being there and having the
tractor and oil up to operating temp its hard to
give a opinion thats accurate. I did not help you
much did I, Rod.

Thanks for the replies. I have never driven one so it was a little different. Guess I'll see what it's bringing and decide or not to bid.

Wish you luck, if you know someone that has driven
one before perhaps they could drive it and see what
they think. You never know it could be a very good
tractor, Rod.

No I didn't buy it. For some reason I just didn't feel right about it for what it was bringing. Think it ended up right around 5 grand. Turbo was leaking oil pretty bad. Same seller had 9 other tractors there. They looked pretty used up. Decided to pass.
