511 b strait piped..

,, took the muffler off the 511and put a strat pipe on it ,,. so I could get under the barn ,,, wow,, the muffler musta had a lot of back pressure for that 159 ..,..it sure runs great without a muffler,.. anyone else ever have that happen ?

Jim, I found that out on my 420B backhoe as it uses the same muffler as a "VA" series, I took a long sharp punch and made a lager hole in it to let it "breath" better made a whole lot of difference I think they do it to lessen the sound levels but they went to far to me

I have found that without my muffler my 311B does not want to start easily. It seems to like that back pressure.

We tried it on our DC pulling 3-14's, loud as all getout, but boy did that tractor talk, sounded like a hot rod for sure. LOL

yes mike ,,.went to bed with the sound of Pops strait piped 51 DC still ringin in my ears many nites ...DCs and VAC s really have fighting spirit ..never seen a slouch,,we don't wanna talk about sc ////btw a strait pipe with a curve away from operator is easier on the ears
