730CK Tie Rods. Real strange one here.

On CASE's parts web, 730CK General Purpose, 48" to 73" Tie Rods, Item #5 A24657, it says "no threaded I.D.". Well, on the originals, & in the real parts book, A24657 is threaded. How else is A28419 End held in securely? Anyone got any ideas?

Just speculating here now, but do you think it had grooved lines giving it the appearance of threads ,thus allowing the outer clamp having a chance to better grip? I wont be able let this thought go until I tear one apart and see it myself. A belated thanks for the gauges . Thank Chris also!

Chuck: Thank you!! The originals on the tractors are threaded.

I wonder if they are left unthreaded so the customer can tap them with the appropriate threads ?
