Case 1290 won't start after fuel filter replacement

I replaced the two fuel filters on my 1290 this evening and now I can"t get the tractor started again. I have never done this on a diesel before so I"m not familiar with the bleeding or priming process. Can anyone give me some pointers here?

The filters should be filled with clean fuel and put on. im not familiar with the 1290 but after that you should run the hand pump to prime the system fully to get the air out. and then start it. if it doesn't start run the hand pump some more and try starting it again.

I've pumped the hand pump quite a bit. I'm not sure how I'd fill the filters with fuel prior to putting them on...seems like it would leak right out the bottom until the seal was tightened by screwing them on....but I can attempt that tomorrow afternoon I guess.

There are 2 bleeder screws on top of filter housing open the one closest to seat and pump primer till you get fuel then repeat on second bleeder twards radiator should start. Afyer that if not repeat process be patient it takes alot of pumping also if tank is full helps alot gravity will speed up the prosses some

Once you tighten the CAV filters down, remove the bleeder screw at the top of each canister and use a squirt can with fuel to fill them. Crack the bleeder screw on the injection pump and use the hand pump to remove the remaining air between the filters and pump. You may also have to crack a couple of injection lines at the injectors.

Thank you guys...I'll take a crack at this tomorrow. Huge help! I knew there had to be a process, just hadn't done it before.
