This is a 2090 i sold a few years ago. It was setup with this when i got it. Its a great idea for the 90 and 94 series for sure. Has anyone else seen this done? Thad

Im sorry guys the wires make it look like something else. They are not hooked to anything in the pic. Its a relief valve for the 3pt. These tractors can have a cable or linkage break in the 3pt system. If that happens they can and will bust the rearend housing. So some one has installed this relief valve into the circuit. With what I assume is a lower pressure rating to dump back into the rear end if that was to happen. That would keep from over pushing the casting and busting it.

Thad, have you seen any of the 3 pt hitch valves that have the cast cover and the the external safety relief? There are a few out in use yet. They were added to some of the tractors when they were new. I don't remember why they had us install them on a certain bunch of tractors. I thought they all should have had them. Rod.

No not that i can remember i will look on all that i see now. But that is interesting that they did that to some of them. That cable is a poor design on those tractors. Thad

I have never seen a set-up like that before.

Where can you buy the relief valve and whats needed to make it work?

What would be the relief pressure setting?

We never had a 3pt. break the tranny housing.
We spent all our time and profits, removing, and rebuilding the diff, assys in 20+2290's on a manditory Case warranty program. That issue and interest rates in the high teens, and low milk prices made us decide to close our dealership.

I have replaced a few of those housings, and all but one of them was caused by chunks of park gear lodged in the 3pt follow up linkage. The linkage or cable(depending on serial number) was broken by the chunks first.

Case engineers could have done something different to protect the lever in the bottom of the housing for sure. I have built a little "house" to put over the lever that seems to work well.

Were there not Case payments to the dealer for performing the warranty work?

I don't have the tractor close to me. But he brings it in for repair's if it needs so next time I will look it over. The relief looks to be adjustable by the way its made. Thad

Sure wish my 2090 would have been protected with that 2years ago.Talk about a site that took me to my knees with tears in my eyes.Yuck!Sounded like a shotgun went off right behind me.Broke the pto housing too.Sure miss that tractor for haying.Hope to get enough funds after harvest to fix it.[wink, wink Rod]

Rank,

Warranty policy is flat rate set by the company and in no way refects the time actually required to do the repair. Warranty is a sure trip to the poor house. I have as has ACG lived through these pips and they have always cost more than the compensation received.

Thanks for the info mel. I always knew warranty work paid different than regular shop rate work (even in automotive industry), but I would have never guessed that the Case Factory would have been so cheap as to put it to their dealers so badly. Breaking even you might be able to stomach but losing money on those type of repairs of extensive repairs would certainly not sit well with any dealer.
