Case 800 factory hydraulics question ......

Looking at a Case 812B that has a loader on it. Some previous owner removed the rear factory pump, kept the hydraulic tank and rear mounted a PTO-driven aftermarket pump which is used to power the front end loader. Loader is a bit slow the way it sits now, maybe 540 RPM's isn't quite fast enough?

Since I would like to be able to use the PTO for other uses, do you think a factory pump would have the power for loader work? I have a parts tractor with the factory pump on it but am wondering if the swap back to using it would work for the loader.

I seriously doubt that the factory pump will be anywhere near as fast as the PTO pump, unless they had a very low gallon pump on the PTO. I am not sure what the factory pump puts out, but I think it is somewhere around 13 gpm?

I see no reason not to use your doner pump, unless it is worn out. We sold lots of tractors with standard hyd pumps and ag loaders. It will never be a Case 580CK, but should be suficient for farm chores.

Just chiming in with the other guys. If your loader is slow with the pto pump it's because the pump is worn. A good pto pump on these old tractors is going to be much stronger than the tractor hydraulics. I have loaders on a 400 and an 830 and both have pto pumps. The 830 has a new pump and is almost too fast. That being said, they do wear out.
